Following Russia’s recognition of the Taliban’s authority, Afghanistan has become a crucial component in the logistics and trade chains of Central and South Asia.

Key logistics routes through Afghanistan:👇

The Trans-Afghan Corridor

Chabahar Port

Chabahar is a key port located on the south-east coast of Iran, providing access to the Indian Ocean.

The port is actively used for the delivery of goods to Afghanistan and other Central Asian countries.

From 2024, Iran and India are investing $120 million in the port’s infrastructure development.

Transports through Turkmenistan

A new transport corridor through Turkmenistan to Afghanistan opened in 2023, enabling goods to be delivered from the Caspian region to South Asia.

The International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC)
